AEW Dynamite Results:

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite kicks off with Tony Schiavone in the ring and brings out Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega. Ospreay thanks Omega for joining him in the ring and says he’s glad he’s not dead. Ospreay says a lot has changed since Omega has been away and he no longer has anything to do with the Don Callis Family and he’s doing everything in his power to try to stop them.

Will admits Omega came back at a bad time as Jon Moxley has the AEW World Title hostage and he can’t get to it because the Don Callis Family won’t leave him alone. Kenny Omega interrupts him and reminds him the last time they were in the ring competing together was at Forbidden Door and he dropped him on his head and stabbed him with a screwdriver because he was trying to prove he was better than him.

Omega says he doesn’t believe Ospreay was better than him then and he doesn’t think he’s better than him now. Kenny congratulates Ospreay on being number two because number one is back. Omega says he won’t help Ospreay with The Don Callis Family. Ospreay and Omega are about to argue and The Don Callis Family interrupts.

All hell breaks loose early tonight on Dynamite

Omega runs out to attack and gets beaten down. Ospreay hesitates but joins in and helps save Kenny from The Don Callis Family. Omega takes on Takeshita and Ospreay takes on Fletcher. As the four men continue to brawl, Lance Archer and Brian Cage come out to get involved to capitalize on the numbers game.

The four men brawl all the way through the crowd and to the merchandise stand. Ospreay and Omega manage to double-suplex Archer through the merchandise table. Omega returns to brawling with Takeshita while Ospreay is dealing with both Cage and Fletcher.

Ospreay and Omega climb up on separate structures and take down the Don Callis Family. Omega says he owes Ospreay an apology as he should have trusted him from the beginning and challenges Fletcher and Takeshita to a tag match at Grand Slam Australia.

Jon Moxley issues a warning to Adam Copeland

Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Marina Shafir are backstage. Moxley says he’s going to take Cope out and put his body on the pile. Moxley says Copeland’s neck is hanging on by a thread just like Bryan Danielson’s was. Mox says he doesn’t have time to deal with relics of the past because they are busy building for the future.

AEW World Tag Team Titles: Private Party (c) vs. The Hurt Syndicate (w/ MVP)

  • The finish of the match saw Bobby Lashley hit Isiah Kassidy with the spear to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: And NEW AEW World Tag Team Champion, The Hurt Syndicate

After the match, Mark Briscoe comes to ringside to check on Private Party.

Grade: B+

This was a very fun tag team match. Private Party gave it everything they had but they were just outpowered by The Hurt Syndicate. I wish Kassidy and Quen got a better reign overall, but I’m not mad at them for putting the titles on Lashley and Benjamin either. Let’s see if we can get this tag team division back on track in 2025.

It’s Toni Time!

A video package plays featuring Mariah May’s reign as champion, narrated by May. May runs down Toni Storm and what she did to her last year. The two will meet this Saturday on Collision.

Toni Storm is backstage with Renee Paquette and they are interrupted by Harley Cameron. Storm convinces that Cameron should work to get a match at Grand Slam Australia next month. A very funny exchange between the two women.

Jeff Jarrett is backstage ready to go out and his wife Karen comes up to him. Karen says getting down in the mud last week with MJF isn’t who he is. Karen is visibly upset and Jarrett promises her that he’s got this.

Jeff Jarrett calls out Jon Moxley

Jarrett makes his way to the ring and tells a story about his time with Jerry Lawler in Tennessee. Jarrett says he’s gonna settle things with MJF outside of the ring and take him behind the woodshed and beat his ass. Jeff once again declares his desire to become AEW World Champion and calls out Jon Moxley.

Claudio Castagnoli attacks Jarrett from behind and says no one gets to Moxley without getting through him first. Castagnoli says he’ll give him a piece of advice… stay out of their business. Castagnoli goes to leave through the crowd but Jarrett grabs the microphone and tells Claudio he’ll have to kill him to stop him.

Jarrett challenges Castagnoli to a match next week, if he wins… he gets a title shot at Moxley. Castagnoli agrees. The match is on.

A video package airs for Megan Bayne who made her surprise return to AEW last week in the Women’s Casino Gauntlet match.

Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana) vs. AR Fox

  • During the match, Ricochet tries to come out and attack Swerve Strickland with scissors, but Prince Nana chases him backstage with a lead pipe. The finish of the match saw Strickland hit AR Fox with the Swerve Stomp to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Swerve Strickland

Strickland shows respect to Fox after the match. Ricochet comes on the Tron and says the people will be forced to hear everything he has to say next week. They show that Ricochet has scissors to Nana’s throat and tells him that this might be Swerve’s house, but there’s a new landlord in town and the rent is due. Strickland heads backstage to save Nana, but Ricochet leaves Nana before he can get there.

Grade: A-

Damn good match between Strickland and Fox. I don’t think it’s possible for these two to have a bad match together. The aftermath with Ricochet and Nana really sets the stage for their match in Atlanta. It should be a very good match.

Yet another Learning Tree segment on AEW Dynamite…

We hear from The Learning Tree backstage. Chris Jericho whines about them losing last week on Collision. Jericho gives Big Bill grief for not being upset about the loss and eggs him on to call out Powerhouse Hobbs this Saturday on Collision.

MJF comes to the ring and kicks out an enhancement talent waiting in the ring for a match. MJF says from the bottom of his heart that Jeff Jarrett deserves to give every wrestling fan an apology for last week. Friedman says he deserves an apology as well.

MJF says he only offered to help Jarrett win the title because he would be the easiest to manipulate and the easiest to beat. Friedman teases that if Castagnoli doesn’t finish Jarrett off next week, he will. After MJF finishes his promo, Hangman Page makes his way to the ring for the match Friedman interrupted. Page gets in his face and tells him to get out of the ring, and MJF does and leaves.

Hangman Page vs. Tyler Shoop

  • Page wins this squash match in less than a minute.

Winner: Hangman Page

After the match, Page hits Shoop with an Angel’s Wings. Christopher Daniels comes out onto the stage with a neckbrace and Page immediately confronts him. Daniels says he doesn’t want to fight and never wanted to fight him. Daniels reveals due to the injuries he suffered in their match on Collision, his doctors have advised him to never wrestle again.

Christopher Daniels tells Hangman he won and hopes he can be happy now. Page is visibly shaken by this news and tells the cameraman to get out of his face.

Harley Cameron shoots her shot for Grand Slam

Mercedes Moné is backstage with Renee Paquette wondering who will be the next woman to step up to her. Harley Cameron comes in with a guitar and sings a song trying to get a match with her at Grand Slam. Mercedes says she hasn’t even won a match yet in AEW so the answer is no and leaves.

Jamie Hayter vs. Julia Hart

  • The finish of the match saw Jamie Hayter hit Julia Hart with Hayterade to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Jamie Hayter

After the match, Hayter puts Hart over on the microphone and tells her when she wants to settle things in a rubber match, she’s down.

Grade: B+

Very good match between Hayter and Hart. I’m not sure when the rubber match will take place, but I’m looking forward to seeing it. It will be very interesting to see who comes out on top.

It’s almost time for the AEW Dynamite main event!

Swerve Strickland is backstage with a very upset-looking Prince Nana. Strickland cuts a passionate promo on Ricochet and teases that he’ll get his hands on him before their match next month in Atlanta.

A vignette airs for Brody King, Buddy Matthews, and Julia Hart. The trio teases the birth of a new faction without Malakai Black. King recently trademarked Hounds of Hell, so we might be seeing this name used on AEW programming soon.

The Rated R Superstar Cope vs. PAC

  • The finish of the match saw Cope hit PAC with a spinning cutter to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: The Rated R Superstar Cope

After the match, the Tron shows the Death Riders having taken out FTR and The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express backstage. They come to the ring and attack Copeland.

Grade: A-

This leads to the return of Jay White who takes care of most of the Death Riders on his own before getting to Moxley. White has Mox set up for a Bladerunner but Yuta hits him with a low blow and the numbers game gets to him. Moxley puts the bulldog choke on Cope as Castagnoli and Yuta hold down White and make him watch as AEW Dynamite goes off the air.

AEW Dynamite Review:

Oh boy. I really loved the majority of this show. There were a few minor nitpicks that I question would have even been seen if it wasn’t for the match between Samoa Joe and Nick Wayne being postponed.

The opening segment was absolutely fantastic. We got a title match and some very good matches. I really enjoyed this show.

Grade: A-
