Tammy Sytch, also known as WWE Hall of Famer Sunny, requested to have her prison sentence modified. In an update, the judge denied her request.
Sytch was previously sentenced to over 17 years in prison due to her role in the car crash that killed 75-year-old Julian Lafrancis Lasseter in March 2022. She was sentenced to 10.6 years in prison for driving with a suspended license causing death and another seven years for DUI manslaughter. It was previously ruled that the sentences would be served after each other.
Per Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Tammy Sytch filed to have her prison sentences changed so they would run concurrently. On the motion, Sytch wrote that she was remorseful, and she highlighted how she had become a teacher’s aide at Lowell Correctional Institution. Sytch also included her potential house and employment options for her life after her release.
In an update, Judge Karen A. Foxman acknowledged Sytch’s efforts but denied her request. This comes after Tammy Sytch pleaded no contest at her hearing. She had been arrested multiple times before the fatal crash crash on auto-related charges.
In February 2024, Tammy Sytch was transferred to Lowell Correctional Institution women’s prison. Per Johnson, the estate of Julian Lasseter is bringing a civil lawsuit that is scheduled to begin on March 25th, and the complaint seeks “in excess” of $30,000 in damages. Johnson notes that the lawsuit argues negligence on Sytch’s behalf and that the family has had to pay medical and funeral expenses, in addition to suffering.
Sytch is currently scheduled to be released from prison on December 22, 2039.
