Trick Williams says The Rock’s appearance on NXT adds to the unpredictable nature of the brand.
The two-time NXT Champion sadly lost his title on NXT on Tuesday. He was pinned by the Nigerian powerhouse Oba Femi, who won his first NXT Championship in a huge shock.
This was not the only shock of the show, as The Rock made two appearances, both in the ring and backstage. He even said that Ethan Page had a “sweet ass”.
Following his title defeat, Trick Williams spoke with Mike Jones of DC101 about The Rock’s appearance on NXT. He said he could never have imagined sharing NXT with the WWE legend and said that it added to the unpredictability of the show.
“Absolutely, that just shows, man—who could imagine The Rock being at NXT ever? NXT, especially in the past year or two, three years, has been taking NXT to new heights. You never know what you’re going to see on Tuesday nights.” Trick Williams said.
Trick Williams Comments On Losing NXT Championship To Oba Femi
Former NXT Champion Trick Williams says he’ll see Oba Femi again in the future.
Oba Femi beat Trick Williams to win the NXT Championship at NXT New Year’s Evil. In doing so, he ended Williams’ second run with the title. Williams’ reign spanned 98 days, as he won it at the NXT on CW Network premiere on October 1st.
Speaking with Mike Jones of DC101, Trick Williams commented on his loss.
“Man, it was a rough night for me last night,” Trick Williams said. “But I guess just like I gotta take all the credit and the glory, I gotta accept the fact, yesterday I did get beat. Oba was the better man yesterday. But I’m sure I’ll see him again in the near future. I ain’t going out like that. I worked too hard and put too much time in for it to end just so suddenly like that. I’m not happy with how it went out last night.”
“Just calling a spade a spade, as much as I’m not happy about what happened last night, Oba is the real deal. He probably is the most dominant presence in the ring that I’ve faced this far. There’s only one Oba Femi, but the truth is also, there’s only one Trick Williams.”
