Nigel McGuinness returned to the ROH ring at ROH Final Battle.
At ROH Final Battle, ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty competed in an open challenge for his title. Nigel McGuinness answered the challenge. In doing so, he competed at the Hammerstein Ballroom for the first time since 2009.
McGuiness and Moriarty battled it out in a thrilling bout, and in the end, Moriarty made the challenger tap out. McGuinness and Moriarty showed their respect for each other after the bell.
Nigel McGuinness is a former ROH World Champion and ROH Pure Champion. He previously held the ROH Pure Championship for 350 days. McGuiness retired from the ring in 2011 and transitioned to commentary. He joined AEW in 2023 and appeared at ROH Supercard of Honor, where he joined the commentary team. McGuinness returned to the ring at AEW All In 2024, and he also faced Bryan Danielson at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.
