WWE held multiple international live events in 2024, and one of the company’s executive vice presidents says this will likely continue in the new year.
The company held Elimination Chamber, King and Queen of the Ring, Clash at the Castle, Bash in Berlin, Crown Jewel, and Survivor Series outside of the United States in 2024. They have already announced that the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event will be held in Toronto on March 1.
Speaking on the Sports Business Journal Sports Media podcast , WWE executive VP of talent relations and head of communications Chris Legentil commented on the company’s Netflix deal and their next year. (H/t Josh Nason of F4WOnline.com)
“This year alone, we did more than half our (premium live events) outside the U.S.,” he said. “Look for more of that when we’re in partnership with Netflix because we’re going to be working with them hand-in-hand to select locations across the world where we can grow our audience and hopefully gain some subscribers for them.”
Triple H On WWE’s Global Takeover
Triple H recently highlighted WWE moving to Netflix as part of the company’s global takeover. He commented on this approach while discussing WWE Elimination Chamber coming to Toronto at the WWE Survivor Series: WarGames Post-Show.
“As you know, this is part of WWE’s global expansion, which we’ve been very focused on in the last year, and a lot of that has to do with our deal that we have with Netflix,” he said. “So January 6, sort of the big next evolution of WWE, heading to Netflix.
“At that time, 80% of the globe will hit Netflix live with Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and all our PLEs. US will be slightly different, but that includes all of Canada, so when that date hits, you’re gonna get all WWE programming here. It’s a game-changer for WWE. We’re very excited about that.”
