This past weekend history was made at the return of one of WWE’s classic shows, Saturday Night’s Main Event. While the return of the show was history-making in itself, the event also crowned the first-ever WWE Women’s United States Champion.
Michin and Chelsea Green competed in the finals of a tournament to crown an inaugural champion. During the match, Green managed to pin Michin and become the first-ever WWE Women’s United States Champion.
As many know, Chelsea Green is the wife of Matt Cardona, who has also captured multiple championships in WWE. One of those titles includes the WWE United States title. With that being said, Green and Cardona have made history by becoming the first husband and wife to have held the United States Championship in WWE.
Fittingly enough, Green wore one-legged tights in Long Island, similar to Cardona during the early part of his WWE run. The Hot Mess took to Twitter to claim that this moment in history can never be taken away from them. “Can’t take this away from us,” Chelsea Green tweeted.
Matt Cardona also tweeted saying that Green and he are a history-making couple.
“History making couple! I love you @ImChelseaGreen!” Matt Cardona tweeted.
