We are a little over a week away from the next major pay-per-view of Ring of Honor, the ROH: Final Battle. This week on Ring of Honor TV, a couple more matches have been announced for the pay-per-view. One of the matches announced for the show will also include the in-ring return of former ROH World Heavyweight Champion Jay Lethal.
Last week, the self-proclaimed ‘God’s Gift to Professional Wrestling’ QT Marshall had bumped into Jay Lethal backstage. Marshall then challenged the former ROH World Champion to match in Ring of Honor.
“So here’s what I propose. Mr. Ring of Honor, The Franchise, the greatest first-generation wrestler in Ring of Honor history against the man who used to be known as God’s gift to Professional Wrestling, Mr. Doom himself, QT Marshall. Just think about it. Think about all the attention, the buzz we will get. You saw, I was on Fallon, Sports Center, ESPN, everything. That could be you Jay,” QT Marshall said.
Lethal denied the offer by saying that he has got bigger fish to catch. But now, it seems like ROH management has accepted Marshall’s offer. Earlier tonight, Jay Lethal sat down to have a chat with Paul Wight. QT Marshall interrupted their conversation and went on to petition for his one-on-one match against Lethal. Paul Wight agreed and thus, the match between Lethal and Marshall was made official for ROH: Final Battle.
Adding to this, the longest-reigning ROH Women’s World Champion Athena will also be putting her title on the line against Billie Starkz. It is to be noted that both stars wrestled each other at last year’s Final Battle and Athena retained her title via submission.
