Adam Cole will finally get his match against MJF at AEW Worlds End.
At AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming, Adam Cole defeated Kyle O’Reilly to earn a shot at MJF’s Dynamite Diamond Ring. Cole and O’Reilly advanced to Winter is Coming by being the last two competitors standing in the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale on the December 4 episode of AEW Dynamite.
MJF tried to interfere in the match on Wednesday, but Cole fought him off. He then pinned O’Reilly for the win. The broadcast team subsequently confirmed that Cole would face MJF for his Dynamite Diamond Ring at AEW Worlds End.
Adam Cole On MJF
AEW Worlds End is a significant show for the rivalry between Cole and MJF. Cole previously turned on MJF and revealed that he was “The Devil” at the pay-per-view in 2023. Speaking on The Danny Ocean Show, Cole discussed reigniting his feud with MJF following his return at AEW WrestleDream.
“I think truth be told, when you look back at that six months that me and MJF had and the chemistry that we had, in a lot of ways, we kind of caught lightning in a bottle to the point where it did main event All In, which was really cool, and the unfortunate injury that happened, I just feel that the story that me and MJF told needs a definitive conclusion.
“I feel like it’s fair to the angle, it’s fair to the program that, coming back from injury, that’s exactly what I’m hopping into. Of course, you want to make as many people happy as possible. Then sometimes too with stories, it takes a little bit to get back to where you were because a lot of the stuff that we did was very slow-burn.
“So I’m confident in what we’re gonna bring to the table, I’m confident in what we’re gonna do, and I do think that us continuing this story with me coming back from injury was the right call, I do.” [H/T: Fightful]
