The “Phenex Queen” Saya Kamitani is eyeing Tam Nakano‘s World of Stardom Championship ahead of Dream Queendom 2024.
Saya Kamitani and Konami recently defeated Tam Nakano and Sayaka Kurara at this year’s Goddess of Stardom Tag League tournament. Before Tam could accept the challenge to make the match official, Saya launched a vicious assault on the champion to make her intentions clear.
Saya previously expressed interest in challenging Tam for the prestigious red belt. Unfortunately, she lost to Maika in the finals of this year’s 5 Star Grand Prix for a shot at Tam’s title.
However, this will not be Saya Kamitani and Tam Nakano’s first time facing off at the Dream Queendom show. Both women also share plenty of history as Saya Kamitani began her wrestling career as Tam Nakano’s protégé.
At Dream Queendom 2021, Tam Nakano lost her Wonder of Stardom Championship against Saya Kamitani. This led to Saya’s historic 480-day reign as white belt champion with a record of 15 defenses.
As of the time of writing, STARDOM has not officially announced the matchup for the show. However, both women have been vocal about wanting to headline the show against one another for the red belt.
