Is Orange Cassidy the next Ryan Gosling? Possibly.
In the present day, Orange Cassidy serves as a regular fixture in All Elite Wrestling. Where do his interests lie outside of professional wrestling, though?
During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Cassidy was asked about potential non-wrestling hobbies he might pursue in the coming years, such as acting. While confirming his openness to acting, Cassidy recalled a comparison he received to one of Hollywood’s hottest actors, namely Ryan Gosling.
“For sure, I’ll act, whatever, that’s fine. It feels like I’ll figure it out. No that’d be, for sure, I’d love to do something like that,” Cassidy said. When people compare me to Ryan Gosling, let me tell you a quick little story. I was wrestling on an independent show, I think it was down in Texas, there’s like 50 people in the crowd. They didn’t know who I was; they could care less. I come out, I go, I walk around the ring to get in the ring and some kid was like ‘Oh yeah, here’s this guy. He looks like Ryan Gosling.’ That is the best compliment anybody could ever give me. The idea that I look like Ryan Gosling is like ‘Oh, thank you. thank you.’
“I don’t know what I’m gonna do. I don’t have any hobbies outside of wrestling. Sleep, is that a good hobby? I love sleep. Sleep’s great,” Cassidy continued. “The Ryan Gosling thing, when the movie Barbie came out and they had all these posts, my Twitter was blown up with like ‘Look it’s Orange Cassidy in the movie.’ I was like yeah, I wish I was next to Margot Robbie in that movie. Put me in the sequel.”
Only time will tell if Cassidy fulfills his dream of joining the inevitable Barbie sequel. For right now, though, Cassidy is coming off a loss to AEW World Champion Jon Moxley at AEW Full Gear, which he now looks to bounce back from.
