NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion Gabe Kidd continues to take shots at Kenny Omega.
The two have gone back and forth in interviews, and they got into an altercation backstage at NJPW Power Struggle. Omega has been sidelined due to diverticulitis, but he has said that he wants to wrestle at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty in January.
Speaking with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Gabe Kidd was asked whether he thought that Omega would do the match.
“Who knows? If he wants to call me out for being unprofessional, then he can be a little bitch about it, but I am very professional,” Gabe Kidd said. “I’m the best professional wrestler on the planet. How can I not be professional? I know what my job is. So he can say what he wants about me, but if we’re talking about professionalism, then he should f*cking turn up and make the match and sell out the Tokyo Dome.
“If you want to talk about professionalism, you’ll do what’s best for the f*cking job. Don’t start saying this shit, acting like you don’t know me, trying to little league me. I’m one of the best in the world, so don’t play with me. Whatever happens, happens.”
Kidd then noted that he and Omega hadn’t interacted since the incident, and he knew AEW is “pissed” because Omega wasn’t cleared yet.
Gabe Kidd: Be A Professional
Kidd continued to discuss the potential match by saying that the right thing would be for Omega to be a professional. He said that he would treat Omega like a “peasant” and hel NJPW regain its spot as the top wrestling company in the world.
“The right thing for him to do is be a f*cking professional,” Gabe Kidd said. “The right thing for him to do is to realize, listen, I’ve had a great career, it’s been fun times, but it’s time for the next guy, and I will sacrifice my body. He should sacrifice himself in this match and just realize that he is not the Kenny Omega he once was.
“These people see him as a god, and I will treat him like a peasant, and they will see me as a god, and New Japan will take its top spot back as number one pro wrestling company in the world. That’s what I think he should do. I think he should be a f*cking professional, pull his thumb out his ass and stop crying. You got dealt with, you got warned, and now it’s time. So f*ck him. That’s it. I don’t know the future. If he’s not a bitch, we’ll see what happens.”
Kidd also said that he doesn’t run any from fights, and he’d seek Omega out if he appeared at another NJPW show in the future.
