TNA iMPACT Results

This week’s episode of TNA iMPACT began with a recap video of last week’s show.

Masha Slamovich and Jordynne Grace vs. Alisha Edwards and Tasha Steelz

  • The finish of the match saw Masha Slamovich lock Alisha Edwards in a Sleeper Hold to win via submission.

Winners: Masha Slamovich and Jordynne Grace

Grade: B+

Fun opener. Exactly what it needed to be. I’m not sure how long the team of Grace and Slamovich will last but it’s a great way for the former champion to give the rub to Slamovich with one of her feet already out the door.

Savannah Evans is backstage with Gia Miller. Evans says she took out Lei Ying Lee last week because she’s tired of waiting for opportunities and she’s back to take them. A really rough promo from Evans. Not good.

Rosemary vs. Wendy Choo in a No-Disqualification match

  • The finish of the match saw Rosemary hit Wendy Choo with As Above So Below to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Rosemary

Grade: C+

I’m really confused with the overall direction of Wendy Choo in both TNA and NXT right now. She is seemingly being buried in both companies at the same time. Unless she’s set for a call-up to the WWE main roster or another character change, none of this makes any sense to me.

They are airing a match from the “TNA Vault.” We aren’t covering that.

And we’re back! Steve Maclin is backstage. Maclin says he’s known all along that Josh Alexander is nothing but a coward and he’s finally shown his true colors. Steve Maclin says Alexander didn’t beat him and says he’s bulletproof. Maclin says things between them are far from over.

We get a vignette from The Rascalz where they take a few sly shots at former member Wes Lee. It’s the typical thing you would expect from these two in this kind of environment.

Joe Hendry comes out on the stage and introduces a song he wrote about Ryan Nemeth. Hendry challenges him to a match next week on TNA iMPACT. You can check out the music video in the embedded post below.

Mike Santana is his own man

Mike Santana is backstage and it looks like he’s about to leave the venue without doing anything at all this evening. So that’s a choice! He’s approached by First Class, AJ Francis says he has nothing but respect for him and he knows he’s trying to do things as a lone wolf but it pays to have friends.

Santana says he came into TNA with his own mission and he just went through The System all by himself so he isn’t sure why he’d need someone like them and leaves. Francis isn’t thrilled and tells Navarro he wants him to take care of Santana.

Jody Threat (w/ Dani Luna) vs. Heather by Elegance (w/ Ash by Elegance)

  • The finish of the match saw Jody Threat hit Heather by Elegance with Pop Shove It (F5) to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Jody Threat

Grade: C

Not great by any means but fine for what it was. Kinda surprised they had Threat go over if they are looking to establish the Elegance duo as a looming threat to their Knockouts Tag Team Titles. Perhaps the company has something else in mind.

TNA X-Division Championship: Speedball Mike Bailey (c) vs. Moose

  • The finish of the match saw Moose hit Mike Bailey with multiple spears to score the pinfall victory and win the title.

Winner: And NEW X-Division Champion, Moose

Grade: D+

Sometimes bad creative and terrible finishes can ruin an entire grade of a match for me despite how great the actual match was and this is a perfect example. I get TNA are paying Moose a lot of money and they probably want some return on their investment, but for the love of God stop putting titles on this guy for a while. This is out of control ridiculous and a huge step backward for the X-Division as a whole. Having Bailey lose to Moose clean is another level of stupidity, I don’t care if Speedball’s contract is coming up in a couple of months or not.

Following the main event, Trent Seven comes to the ring and helps Mike Bailey up before turning on him as TNA iMPACT goes off the air.

TNA iMPACT Review:

This was a nothing show. Granted they had multiple injuries take place at their tapings and they needed to fill time on tonight’s show with a match from the vault just to get to two hours so I get it. But the finish of the main event left a sour taste in my mouth even though I knew it was happening and I can’t in good conscious give this show a good grade.

Grade: C-
