Last week, the WWE Universe was caught by surprise when WWE Superstars Baron Corbin, Tegan Nox, and former NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell left WWE. All three of their contracts had come to an end and they decided to not re-sign with the company. One-fourth of The Way, former NXT World Champion Johnny Gargano shared his thoughts on Hartwell’s departure.
While speaking to Metro.co.uk, Johnny Gargano shared how close he and his wife Candice LeRae are with Indi Hartwell.
“Obviously, everybody knows what Indi means to me and Candice, we absolutely love and we absolutely believe in her.”
Gargano also mentioned that Hartwell has a bright future and that he is excited to see what she has to offer for the world of professional wrestling.
“We still do believe that she’s so incredibly young, I think she’s got a lot to offer the wrestling world, and I am very excited to see what she shows the wrestling world. I think she’s got untapped personality, untapped potential. I think when she’s able to finally show that to the world, people are gonna latch on.”
Gargano also hopes that Hartwell returns to WWE in the future.
“It worked out for me and Candice. Hopefully, she ends up back here, but you never know!” Johnny Gargano said.
Carmelo Hayes on the recent WWE releases
Former NXT World Champion Carmelo Hayes was also spoke to Metro.co.uk. During the interview, Hayes mentioned that it is unfortunate that people have to leave the company. But at the same time, the former NXT Champion is confident that when wrestlers part ways with WWE, they leave as a more talented and experienced wrestler than they first came in.
“It’s weird because I’ve been through it a lot unfortunately, where you’re with somebody one day and they’re gone the next. “It’s kinda like a survivor’s guilt, you know what I mean? After a day or two, you’re like, ‘Man! You just hate to see that for them. Everyone that comes through here leaves better, that’s the one thing. Anyone who’s ever been through WWE leaves with a higher stock!” Carmelo Hayes said.
