Goldberg Announces His Retirement Match Will Be In 2025

Goldberg will have his retirement match in 2025.

The WWE Hall of Famer appeared on SEC Network to discuss the Georgia Bulldogs’ football game against the Florida Gators on November 2. During his appearance, he was asked about his confrontation with Gunther at WWE Bad Blood. The legend announced that his retirement match will take place in 2025.

“The news of the day is, per three executives, Nick Khan, Chris Legentil, and Paul Levesque, in 2025, Goldberg’s having his retirement match,” he said. “I think we know who the victim, probably the frontrunner right now, we know who it is. But 2025, Goldberg makes his return, retirement match. I got a couple months to get ready. No date, no time, so we’ll see.”

Goldberg made his debut in WCW in 1997. He became one of their top stars, and he had a legendary undefeated streak. He joined WWE in 2003 and won the World Heavyweight Championship, but he left in 2004. The veteran returned to WWE in 2016, and he faced Brock Lesnar at WWE Survivor Series. He went on to win the WWE Universal Championship twice, as he wrestled on a part-time basis over the next few years. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.

Goldberg last wrestled at WWE Elimination Chamber 2022, where he lost to Roman Reigns. His WWE contract expired at the end of 2022.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
