For almost two decades the Gold Standard, Shelton Benjamin has been entertaining fans in the professional wrestling industry. He is currently signed with All Elite Wrestling. Recently, the former WWE United States Champion addressed a few conceptions about his desires in the world of professional wrestling.
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Shelton Benjamin opened up about what fans have been thinking and speaking about him. The former WWE Superstar mentioned that there is a misconception about his desire for professional wrestling. He has heard people claiming that Benjamin is just happy to be a part of the roster and that he will be happy even just sitting at catering doing nothing. Benjamin mentioned that this irks him a lot. He does not want to just a spot-filler.
“I think one of the biggest misconceptions, and it keeps coming up, is my desire to just be on the roster,” Benjamin said. “I’ve even heard bogus stories pop up about me saying, “I’m happy just to be on the roster. I’m happy just to have a spot. I’m happy to sit in catering.’ Every time I hear this stuff, it really irks me. I have no desire to be a spot-filler,” Shelton Benjamin said. [H/T Wrestling INC.]
