Report: Multiple Independent Wrestlers Already Under Contracts Related To WWE ID Program

A new report provides even more information about WWE ID, the program that WWE introduced on October 29.

In the official announcement, WWE stated that the goal of the WWE Independent Development is to provide up-and-coming independent wrestlers a pathway to a potential career in WWE.” Wrestling schools and some talent will be given WWE ID designations as part of the program.

Brandon Thurston of POST Wrestling reports that several wrestlers on the independent scene are “already under contracts with WWE related to the WWE ID program,” per multiple sources. The report notes that the wrestlers were not specifically named. However, it was confirmed that several independent wrestlers have deals that allow them to continue working independent events without restrictions.

Thurston also writes that, as of this writing, no financial support is being provided to the schools, per one source.
