Jon Moxley gets candid about Bryan Danielson.
AEW World Champion Jon Moxley intends to create a new paradigm in All Elite Wrestling, one that doesn’t include “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson. That part was made clear when Moxley, along with his Blackpool Combat Club stablemates, forcibly kicked Danielson out of the group (and out of AEW) in violent fashion.
During a recent interview with Youngstown Studio, Moxley reflected on his long history with Danielson. Despite that, Moxley still felt obligated to remove Danielson from his ongoing re-modeling motion.
“I could sit here and I could wax about the beauty of what Bryan Danielson creates in the ring and probably the greatest pure wrestler in the ring that has ever walked the face of the earth,” Moxley said. “I could sit here and talk about that all day, if that’s what we were doing. And I was lucky enough to, have been his opponent many times, but I was one of the even fewer people that was lucky enough to be his teammate and partner for a few years there. And to be on that side of it is an even bigger blessing and an even a more special thing to be able to worked alongside him and to learn everything that I could learn. All that being said, Bryan Danielson is not on the board anymore.
Moxley Takes Danielson Off The Board
“I took that piece off the board and it is not part of the game anymore,” Moxley continued. “Some people that might not be happy about that. They might voice their displeasure about that; they might shower me with vitriol about that, but I can handle that. There are some things that just have to be done and somebody has got to do them. Someone has to have the Constitution to be able to handle that vitriol, to be able to put themselves in a position to weather that storm, to stand tall in the rain, the wind, the ice, and the hail and just take whatever comes because some there are things that somebody has to do.”
Last week, Moxley noted that, in addition to Danielson, some other figures needed to be destroyed in order to benefit the “greater good.” Unfortunately for Chuck Taylor, he was the Blackpool Combat Club’s next victim.
