TNA iMPACT Results

This week’s episode of iMPACT kicks off with a recap of last week’s show.

Frankie Kazarian vs. AJ Francis vs. Sami Callihan vs. Laredo Kid vs. Jake Something vs. Jason Hotch

  • The closing moments of the match saw Sami Callihan hit the Cactus Driver on Frankie Kazarian, but AJ Francis took out Callihan and got the pinfall on Kazarian.

Winner: AJ Francis

Grade: B-

Fun multi-man match with an unexpected winner. I can’t say I expected AJ Francis to win this match. I certainly don’t expect him to win at Bound For Glory, but we’ll see how it goes. The way they’ve been using Kazarian as of late it seems like he’ll be the one to win on Saturday night.

Jonathan Gresham is ready for his comeback

Backstage Jonathan Gresham speaks about his match against Josh Alexander later on tonight. Gresham said tonight is the start of his comeback and called the situation personal.

A vignette airs for Mike Santana, hyping his match against Moose this weekend at Bound For Glory.

Josh Alexander vs. Jonathan Gresham

  • The closing moments of the match saw Josh Alexander hit Jonathan Gresham with the C4 Spike to score the pinfall victory

Winner: Josh Alexander

Alexander and his goons continue to attack Gresham after the match. Steve Maclin comes out and attempts to make the save but is overwhelmed by the numbers game. The beatdown on Maclin eventually is stopped by members of the TNA roster.

Grade: B+

Damn good match between Alexander and Gresham. These two work very well together and depending on what happens this weekend at Bound For Glory perhaps their rivalry can continue.

Another vignette airs for Mike Santana which is hyping his match with Moose this weekend at Bound For Glory.

Wendy Choo (w/ Rosemary) vs. Jody Threat

  • The closing moments of the match saw Rosemary assist Wendy Choo while the referee’s back was turned as Choo scored the pinfall victory.

Winner: Wendy Choo

Grade: C

The match was very whatever. It felt like it kinda dragged and I’m not really sure why. It just wasn’t one of the better Knockouts matches I’ve seen lately.

Moose sends a warning to Mike Santana

The System is backstage. Moose responds to the vignettes from Mike Santana tonight and tells him he’s going to beat his ass at Bound For Glory and make him trust The System.

The System vs. The Hardys and ABC

  • The closing moments of the match saw Ace Austin hit JDC with The Fold to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: ABC and The Hardys

The System attacks all four men following the match. Mike Santana tries to get involved but Moose takes him out too.

Grade: B+

Fun, lengthy eight-man tag team match. ABC scoring the pinfall tonight pretty much guarantees they won’t be leaving with the titles at Bound For Glory. I would imagine The Hardys will leave Detroit with the gold if the company has been able to convince Matt and Jeff to stick around long-term.

A double contract signing

Santino Marella is in the ring to handle tonight’s double contract signing. Marella brings out Masha Slamovich, followed by Joe Hendry, Jordynne Grace, and Nic Nemeth.

Slamovich said tonight is a full circle moment for her because she signed her first TNA contract in Tennessee and tonight she’s going to sign this contract that will make her the next Knockouts Champion when she finally beats her. Slamovich signs the contract.

Jordynne Grace says she’s happy for Slamovich and she’s proud of her. Grace says they both know how this plays out. Grace says nothing has changed and she’s sorry that she’s gonna have to beat her again in order for her to understand that. Jordynne signs the contract and the match is official.

Joe Hendry says some people think he’s an overnight sensation but this has been an 11-year journey to get to this point. Hendry says the contract in front of him could change both of their destinies. Hendry says after Bound For Glory there will be a new face of TNA and everyone will be chanting we believe. Joe signs the contract.

Nic Nemeth says he respects Hendry and he hopes the feeling is mutual and he wants him to focus on only him. Nemeth says he doesn’t want him to be listening to his haters and he wants him to be focused on his match as he doesn’t plan on losing. Nemeth signs the contract.

Frankie Kazarian comes to the ring and says everyone in the ring is overrated. Kazarian says he went right to Anthem management and over Santino’s head in order to be the special guest referee at Bound For Glory. All five people in the ring eventually have enough of Kazarian’s rambling and they beat him up and put him through the table as TNA iMPACT goes off the air.

TNA iMPACT Review

The show was decent overall, but it really didn’t feel like a proper go-home show to get me excited for the pay-per-view this weekend. There was a lot of promotion for Bound For Glory, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think the right things were executed upon to make someone want to part with their money to pay for the show this weekend. To me, contract signings are so tired and played out in 2024 that is literally the last thing I would use as the last thing someone saw on your show before this weekend’s event, but alas… that’s what they did.

Grade: B-
