Chris Jericho has regained the ROH World Championship, as he beat Mark Briscoe on AEW Dynamite.
Briscoe retained the title against Jericho at AEW WrestleDream. They continued to feud, and Jericho challenged for the title again on the October 23 episode of AEW Dynamite, where they clashed in a Ladder War.
Jericho and Briscoe battled it out in a hard-hitting match, where tables and ladders were used as weapons. Briscoe nearly scored the win with an elbow drop off a ladder and through a table. He also hit a Jay Driller, but Jericho’s Learning Tree stablemate Big Bill stopped him from scoring the victory. Bill ran in and chokeslammed Briscoe over the ropes and through two tables at ringside. The big man then carried Jericho on his shoulders and climbed up the ladder. Jericho unhooked the title to win the match, becoming a two-time ROH World Champion in the process.
After the match, NJPW’s Tomohiro Ishii came to the stage and stared Jericho down. Jericho and The Learning Tree previously took Ishii out with a backstage attack on the September 6 episode of AEW Collision.
Briscoe previously won the title by beating Eddie Kingston at ROH Supercard of Honor on April 5. Jericho is now a two-time champion; he beat Claudio Castagnoli to win the gold at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam 2022. Castagnoli then won the title back at ROH Final Battle 2022.
