Willow Nightingale will challenge for the gold at AEW WrestleDream, as she earned a title shot on AEW Dynamite.
Nightingale had been set to face Britt Baker in a Number One Contender’s Match for the AEW Women’s World Championship on Tuesday, but Baker was unable to compete. She then took on Saraya, Jamie Hayter, and Nyla Rose instead. During the match, Penelope Ford, who had been absent for months, returned and hit Hayter with a chair. Hayter pursued her to the back, making the bout a three-way contest.
Nightingale ultimately emerged victorious, as she pinned Saraya with a Doctor Bomb. She stared down AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May after the match, and May hit her with a cheap shot.
Nightingale later attacked May backstage and vowed to beat her at AEW WrestleDream.
