Trick Williams Highlights His Main Takeaway From His WWE Character

Trick Williams highlights the difference between himself and his wrestling character.

The WWE star recently won his second NXT title in fine fashion. With CM Punk working as the special guest referee, he pinned Ethan Page on the first episode of NXT on the CW Network.

Trick Williams spoke with The State, where he spoke about what the main thing that you can take away from his character in NXT at the moment.

He explained how his character is just his real personality turned up to 10, which is the basis of a lot of the top gimmicks in wrestling.

The main thing to take from Trick Williams

“I feel like that’s the main thing that you can take from Trick Williams. I’m gonna put the work in, and I’m gonna have faith in what I do.”

“I’m actually very, very fortunate that Matrick Belton and Trick Williams are the same person,” he said. “Like, Matrick is always the life of the party. But he probably turns it up. “If Matrick is on six, Trick Williams is on 10.”

Trick Williams On The “Whoop That Trick” During The Rock’s Segment

Trick Williams also spoke about the crowd chanting for him once when The Rock was in the ring.

Just as The Rock was setting up for a song-style promo on Smackdown earlier this year, the crowd began to chant “Whoop that Trick!”. Because this is usually only done by the NXT fans regularly, and was a huge endorsement of him in that moment.

However, he is under no illusion that this was the crowd saying they want him vs The Rock.

“For me to look up to The Rock that much, and for the people to acknowledge the chant. I ain’t gonna say it was for me. I ain’t gonna say they wanted me to pop out and confront The Rock. That’s not what it’s about. But that’s my catchphrase, and they’re chanting that. And I feel like I had a big part of ‘Whoop that Trick!’ being a movement in WWE.””
