The Young Bucks were at the airport today. As it turns out, so was Shane McMahon!
The trio stopped to take a photo to commemorate the occasion. I’m sure the internet will have a normal and rational reaction.
Will Shane McMahon end up in AEW?
Shane McMahon’s name has come up in recent months in AEW circles, with fans speculating that he could end up working in the promotion.
In June, Conrad Thompson spoke with Jim Ross on the Grilling JR Podcast. Thompson said he had been told that Shane McMahon had been asking talent about a chance to join the company. Tony Khan initially said he had not met with Shane, but McMahon was always welcome in AEW.
Khan later shared that he ended up meeting McMahon to discuss “possibilities” in the future. A photo of their meeting leaked online. McMahon later provided a statement to Bully Ray about the meeting, detailing what was discussed.
“Tony and I were connected through a mutual friend and we had a great meeting. We talked about many things, but mostly about our shared love for the business and the rewards and challenges of working with family. I congratulated him on the five year anniversary of AEW and look forward to how he evolves the business moving forward.”
In August, Khan said that he’d not seen Shane since their initial meeting.
“That was the first time we ever met,” Tony Khan said on The Dan Le Batard Show. “Yes, that is the only time we’ve ever met. Not since, no. It’s been a very busy time since then, on many, many levels. So that’s the only time we’ve met in person. I really enjoyed talking with him. I didn’t not place that call from inside the house. Somebody did just pop in [and take the photo]. It was kind of weird.”
