Nia Jax‘s challenger at WWE Bad Blood will be determined on the September 27 episode of WWE SmackDown.
On the September 20 episode of WWE SmackDown, WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton faced Bayley and Naomi in a high-stakes Tornado Tag Team Match. With a win, Bayley or Naomi would earn a shot at Jax’s title at WWE Bad Blood. But if they lost, the loser would be forced to leave SmackDown.
The two teams started brawling as soon as the bell rang. Bayley and Naomi gained the upper hand. They double-teamed Jax and continued to gain momentum. Jax fired up and overpowered the duo. Stratton and Jax double-teamed Bayley. They maintained the advantage and grounded their opponents.
Jax threw Naomi into the barricade, but Bayley rallied. Naomi dragged Bayley off a pin, and they argued. Jax trucked over Naomi, but Naomi rocked the champion with a kick. Jax took control again, but Naomi countered a powerbomb into a face-buster. Stratton broke up the pin with a Swanton, but Naomi moved, so she landed on Jax. Naomi and Bayley hit Stratton with a 1-D. Jax then slammed Naomi, but Bayley and Naomi both pinned her.
Bayley and Naomi were both announced as the winner, so the outcome was uncertain, as there was no word on who would challenge Jax at WWE Bad Blood. Later in the show, Nick Aldis announced that Bayley will face Naomi on the September 27 episode, and the winner will face Nia Jax at WWE Bad Blood.
Jax previously won the WWE Women’s Championship by beating Bayley at WWE SummerSlam. Stratton holds the Women’s Money in the Bank briefcase, and she has teased cashing in on multiple occasions.
