Nia Jax Sends Message To Charlotte Flair Ahead Of Her Return To WWE

Nia Jax plans to keep her WWE Women’s Championship.

As Charlotte Flair nears closer to a potential in-ring return, many fans are expecting her to immediately win championship gold in WWE, much like she has in the past. According to WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax, though, that will not be the case this time.

During a recent interview with Unlikely With Adrian Hernandez , Jax delivered a message to “The Queen” regarding this possibility.

‘With Charlotte, she’s a 14-time women’s champion. She’s rehabbing faster after her ACL surgery, but I’ve been working hard for the last year, while she’s been sitting back and enjoying a little vacation,” Jax said. “So if she thinks she’s coming back to take this title, I wish her all the luck, but it’s definitely not happening.”

Flair’s latest hiatus can be attributed to a series of knee injuries, namely a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus, that she sustained in December 2023. Following her surgery in January, doctors projected her recovery time to approximately span nine months. Now eight months out from surgery, recent reports indicated that Flair is not yet cleared for action, and there will “still be some time” before she is.

In past returns, Flair has won the likes of the WWE Women’s Tag Team and SmackDown Women’s Championship. The latter occurred in December 2022 as Flair defeated Ronda Rousey after laying out an impromptu challenge. Flair’s respective SmackDown Women’s Championship reign would continue through WWE WrestleMania 39, until Rhea Ripley beat her night one of the premium live event.

Amidst Flair’s absence, Jax claimed the throne as the 2024 Queen of the Ring. And at SummerSlam, she defeated Bayley to claim the WWE Women’s Championship.
