WWE NXT will begin a new era when the show premieres on The CW Network on October 1. NXT commentator Booker T believes the move is “huge” and says it will put more pressure on the talent to perform.
On his The Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T discussed NXT moving to The CW. He highlighted how there would be even more pressure on the talent. (H/t Jon Jordan of Wrestling Inc. for the transcription)
“It’s gonna [bring] a whole lot more criticism if you’re not out there really, really performing at a certain level with Twitter and all that stuff now,” Booker T said. “You’re gonna be put out there and exposed to a lot more fans. It’s gonna be a sink or swim mentality. For me, there again, cream rises to the top.”
“This is huge,” he added. “I’m jealous in so many ways. I could see myself coming up in an NXT system when I first got into the business and how great that would have been to actually have that kind of springboard into the next level. Man, it would have been awesome.”
WrestleZone has coverage of WWE NXT as it airs every Tuesday.
