Report: AEW Planning Stadium Show In Australia For 2025

AEW is reportedly planning to run a stadium event in Australia next year.

In 2024, the company held their first show outside North America for AEW All In 2023. It was a huge success, drawing over 80,000 fans for the largest paying crowd in wrestling history. AEW will return to Wembley Stadium later this month, but the company has a new destination in mind, according to a new report.

Tom Naghten of Sporting News exclusively reported that AEW plans to run a stadium show in Australia in 2025. Naghten wrote that the show is in the works, with stadiums on the East Coast being touted as the site of AEW’s first Australian show.

Sydney’s Allianz Stadium, Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, and Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium are said to be the frontrunners for the event.

It is clear that Australia is a big market for wrestling. More than 52,000 fans attended WWE’s Elimination Chamber in Perth last year. AEW will be hoping to match, or even surpass, that number if they do come to Australia in 2025.

As of this writing, no details have been confirmed. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.

AEW is officially set to make its debut in Wales, as the company will hold a Dynamite/Collision taping at Utilita Arena Cardiff on August 21.

Meanwhile, Tony Khan has teased “the most important announcements in AEW history” in recent weeks. This comes as the company has been negotiating with Warner Bros. Discovery as their media rights deal is coming up.
