Kimberly Page Discusses Randy Savage’s Impact On DDP’s Career

Kimberly Page doesn’t think Diamond Dallas Page would have got to where he did without Randy Savage.

DDP and Macho Man feuded in WCW in 1997, after Kimberly Page became her then-husband’s valet on TV. The pair wrestled multiple times, with Page beating the Macho Man at Spring Stampede 1997.

Savage was also a huge part of DDP becoming the WCW Champion in 1999. He refereed the four-way match at Spring Stampede 1999, where Page beat Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Sting to win his first world title in wrestling.

Kimberly Page spoke with The Hannibal TV, and she was asked about working with Randy Savage in WCW. She called the WWE Hall of Famer a “huge personality” and credited him with helping DDP reach the level that he did. She added that he was so eccentric that she struggled to understand him when they were talking backstage.

“Another huge personality.” Kimberly Page said. “When that guy walked into a room, everybody looked. He was just larger than life, and he helped bring Dallas to a level of fame that neither one of us probably ever would have expected. You know, you have to thank a lot of people in your career, and I know that Dallas has a great amount of gratitude for him for, as he puts it, ‘putting a rocket on his ass.'”

“He was eccentric. He was always eccentric. You’d have a conversation with him and, at least for me—my hearing has never been that great, and it’s really terrible now—I’d be listening really hard to what he was saying, thinking, ‘Did I get all that? I’m not sure. I think I got the gist of what he was saying.’ But, yeah, he was definitely eccentric.” Kimberly Page added.
