A current champion has re-signed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Shane Haste has re-signed with the company. Haste had been with WWE for a few years, and he had a brief run as Slapjack of Retribution before he was released in a wave of cuts in 2021.
Haste has been working with NJPW since 2022. He united with Mikey Nicholls, and the duo recently won the IWGP Tag Team Championship and the STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championship. Haste has also made a few appearances on AEW programming as part of the company’s working relationship with AEW.
Per Sapp, Haste’s contract had been set to expire in June, but the two sides reached an agreement.
Throughout his career, Haste has also wrestled for NOAH and ROH, among other companies.
