Drew McIntyre issues a warning to Michael Cole.
In recent months, Drew McIntyre has been feuding with CM Punk, often bringing the former champion up in promos, even when unprompted. The rivalry has escalated, as Punk cost McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40. All the while, commentator Michael Cole has often called McIntyre delusional for his view of the situation.
Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, Drew McIntyre was asked whether it felt like everyone in WWE was working against him. He started to express his frustration with Cole.
“It feels like everyone’s working against me these days, be it CM Punk, be it fellow members of the roster, or be it your colleague on commentary, Michael Cole, talking trash about me every single week,” Drew McIntyre said.
McIntyre continued by suggesting that Pat McAfee should have a talk with Michael Cole. He stated that Cole controlled the narrative in WWE, and he was misusing that power.
“I suggest you have a talk with Michael Cole,” he said. “He’s got the most powerful voice in WWE, he controls the narrative in WWE, whether people realize it or not. He puts the thoughts in their head that they’re constantly thinking. One time, he was telling them Drew McIntyre’s the centerpiece of WWE, he got us through the pandemic. I did. These days, he calls me delusional, he calls me a hypocrite. It’s appropriate he comes from the background he does in the mainstream media.
“He controls the narrative of WWE, and right now, I don’t like the message he’s putting out about Drew McIntyre. I suggest you get in his ear, or I’m gonna get in his face and I’m gonna start smacking him around because he’s using that power irresponsibly. Well, if he keeps on the path he’s on, I’m gonna break him verbally. Then I’m gonna break him physically.”
Drew McIntyre: I Haven’t Lied Once
Drew McIntyre then reiterated that Cole was pissing him off. He said he heard what Cole was saying about him. The former WWE Champion claimed that he had not lied once.
“That’s what it’s coming to at this point. I’m getting pretty POed with Michael Cole,” Drew McIntyre said. “Every single week, I listen to him. I hear him every single week, delivering that message, controlling the narrative like he does, saying I’m delusional.
“I’ve not lied once. I ain’t a bad guy these days. I’m a truthful guy, and the world doesn’t like the truth apparently anymore. Michael Cole apparently doesn’t like the truth anymore. It’s just a reflection of society. You tell the truth, suddenly you’re a bad guy. You find one lie I’ve said. I’ll call you a liar because I haven’t lied once.”
Drew McIntyre Calls Michael Cole A Bitch
Later in the show, Pat McAfee pulled up a message from Michael Cole, who was upset that McAfee did not stand up for him. McIntyre pointed out that Cole did not name him in his message. He then agreed when one of the co-hosts called Cole a bitch.
“You notice he didn’t mention me once,” Drew McIntyre said. “Pat, I’ll see you next Monday. Hopefully people learned something, especially in WWE, from this interview. [Co-host jokes that they’ll learn that Michael Cole is a bitch] There we go. Can I say bitch? Michael Cole, stop being a little bitch. I work hard for this place.”
