Mustafa Ali is thoroughly impressed by “Speedball” Mike Bailey.
After completing his 90-day non-compete clause with WWE, Mustafa Ali announced the launch of his 2024 campaign, which would see him venture into several wrestling promotions across the world. Ali also noted his intention to restore the element of honor back into the wrestling industry through the removal of the “corrupt industry leaders.”
On February 25, Ali’s world tour led him to Los Angeles for Prestige Wrestling‘s A Moment Of Violence event. There, he faced, and defeated, “Speedball” Mike Bailey in an intense 24-minute match. Following his victory, Ali delivered an impassioned speech for the live audience, heaping praise for the man standing before him.
“You are, by far, the toughest son of a b*tch I have ever wrestled in my life,” Ali said to Bailey. “You insane bastard! Look at me! When I announced this world tour, I said that I was going to remove corrupt leaders like you — the guy that just runs over the indies beats the s*** out of everyone, has his way. And now I realize I was wrong. Speeball is not a corrupt leader. Independent wrestling needs men, god d*** men, like Speedball.”
“When I announced this world tour, dream matches galore came in. Me versus Amazing Red. Can you believe it? Amazing Red, it’s going to happen, but the one match that got the most publicity, that got the most likes, the most retweets, whatever you want to call it, the one the people wanted to see was me versus you … Speedball Mike Bailey, you have my respect. And I am sure, sooner than later, it’s gonna be for this [X-Division Championship].
As Ali alluded to, he recently defeated Chris Sabin to win TNA Wrestling’s X-Divison Championship. After a battle at Prestige, it seems that “Speedball” Mike Bailey may soon be in line for a title shot.
