CM Punk is sad that he won’t be around the locker room as he recovers from his injury.
CM Punk made his buzzworthy return to WWE at WWE Survivor Series. He then competed in his first televised WWE match since 2014 as he was part of the Men’s Royal Rumble. However, he suffered a torn triceps in the match that will sideline him for the next several months.
WWE shared a video that highlighted Punk’s Royal Rumble week and his promo about his injury. In one highlight, he highlighted how much he has enjoyed the WWE locker room since he returned.
“I’m very careful about saying where you work is your family because I think your family is your family, where you work is your job,” CM Punk said. “But it’s been a great support system, and just certain looks from certain people I get, and then I start crying, and Cody’s one of them. He’s a great dude.
“This locker room is everything the business is supposed to be. It’s everything the business was sold to me as being, and it’s remarkable, and that’s why I’m so sad. I’m not sad I hurt my arm. I’m sad I’m temporarily out of this amazing situation.”
It should be noted that, before his injury occured, Punk was only backstage at a handful of shows following his return at WWE Survivor Series.
WWE also shared a clip that showed CM Punk telling Cody Rhodes to finish the story. Check it out here.
