The Rookie of Stardom and Triangle Derby Tournaments are set to return on January 3rd, 2024, STARDOM announced.
Both tournaments will begin and culminate at STARDOM‘s New Year Stars 2024 show at the Yokohama Budokan. The tournaments will follow a single-elimination format.
Rookie of Stardom Tournament 2024
This event marks the first Rookie of Stardom tournament held since 2019. The previous winner, Saya Kamitani, went on to become a Wonder of Stardom champion for 480 consecutive days.
The current lineup for the 2024 edition of the tournament is as follows:
- First Round: Yuzuki vs. Rana Yagami
- First Round: HANAKO vs. Sayaka Kurara
- Finals: First Round Match 1 Winner vs. First Round Match 2 Winner
Triangle Derby 2024
As for the Triangle Derby, eight trio teams will battle for a future shot at the Artist of Stardom Championship. The current champions are Donna Del Mondo’s Giulia, Mai Sakurai, and Thekla. While they are also competing in the Triangle Derby, STARDOM is yet to announce the stakes should they go on to win the entire tournament.
The full lineup of the 2024 Triangle Derby tournament is as follows:
- First Round: Giulia, Mai Sakurai, Thekla vs. Lady C, Miyu Amasaki, Hina
- First Round: Suzu Suzuki, Mei Seira, Megan Bayne vs. Utami Hayashishita, Saya Kamitani, AZM
- First Round: Mayu Iwatani, Hanan, Saya Iida vs. Natsuko Tora, Momo Watanabe, Starlight Kid
- First Round: Syuri, MIRAI, Ami Sohrei vs. Ruaka, Rina, Fukigen Death
- Semi-Finals: First Round Match 1 Winner vs. First Round Match 2 Winner
- Semi-Finals: First Round Match 3 Winner vs. First Round Match 4 Winner
- Finals: Semi-Finals Match 1 Winner vs. Semi-Finals Match 2 Winner
New Year Special 8-Person Tag Match
On top of the previously announced tournament matches, a special eight-woman tag team match will be held. Nanae Takahashi and Yuu of 7Upp will team up with Hazuki and Saki Kashima against Maika, Mina Shirakawa, and Saori Anou and Yuna Mizumori from Cosmic Angels.
