One of the most controversial stars in professional wrestling is CM Punk. He was fired from AEW following an altercation with Jungle Boy Jack Perry. Recently, Bryan Danielson commented on it.
The American Dragon is one of the members of the Disciplinary Committee. He was part of the committee and analyzed and investigated the issue involving the self-proclaimed Best in the World. During an interview with Alex McCarthy for Inside The Ropes, Bryan Danielson shared his thoughts on the matter.
“Yeah it’s really, you know, I’m just part of a disciplinary committee. And you know we had to take the action that we had to take, right? So… uh… But yeah it was the… The whole thing was hard. And I really like Punk and I have a lot of respect for Punk. You know, he’s been an important part of AEW. I just wish him the best you know, going forward. I hope he does a great job there and I hope he has a lot of fun. Past that, I don’t really want to say a lot…
“I’m new to this… You know, nobody wants to be a part of a disciplinary committee. Right? Like that’s not nobody… Yeah, yeah yeah… Nobody… My wife and I joked about like, ‘Oh you could turn it into a gimmick right?’ Where like you are backstage handing out fines or whatever it is. You know what I mean?” Bryan Danielson said.
Bryan Danielson was honored to be considered for being a member of the disciplinary committee
While speaking in the same interview, Danielson mentioned that he was honored about getting the opportunity to be part of the committee.
“But the reality is like… I was kind of honored when they asked me to be a part of it you know? It’s not something I get paid for. I’m not like… I’m just like the other wrestlers in the sense of I don’t have a contract outside of being a wrestler contract right? I;m just one of the wrestlers. But I was honored when they asked me to take on more roles backstage. That always makes you feel good bout like, ‘Okay they trust me in these positions and that sort of thing. Honestly, with this being kind of my last full-time year as a wrestler, that’s something I am kind of looking at going forward. Is like, ‘Okay what other things could I do besides being in the ring that could help AEW.”
