Cody Rhodes will aim to finish the story at WWE Royal Rumble.
On the November 27 episode of WWE RAW, Cody Rhodes came to the ring and discussed WWE Survivor Series. He thanked his teammates in the Men’s WarGames Match and expressed his gratitude for Randy Orton, who returned and joined forces with him for the bout. Rhodes got emotional as he noted that he competed in the match invented by his father, Dusty Rhodes.
Rhodes also briefly addressed CM Punk’s return and welcomed him back. “He “The American Nightmare” then said he wanted to make some news himself, and he announced himself as the first entrant in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble.
Shinsuke Nakamura appeared on the video screen and revealed that Rhodes was his target all along. He stated that he needed Rhodes to awaken him and help him evolve. Nakamura then said he was tired of waiting. He appeared behind Rhodes and blindsided him by spitting mist in his face.
Cody Rhodes won the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble and went on to lose to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 39.
