Ever since being forced to retire from professional wrestling back in 2011, Adam Copeland has been testing out his luck in other ventures. He especially has been pursuing a career in acting. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion has been part of a few movies and a handful of television series.
One of his biggest roles was in the hit series Haven. Recently, the former WWE Superstar was spotted in the teaser of the upcoming Disney+ series Percy Jackson And The Olympians. Adam Copeland will be playing the role of The God of War Ares in the series.
Copeland recently took to Twitter to finally open up about his role and the series as a whole.
“Just slightly excited to finally be able to talk about @PercySeries debuting on @DisneyPlus Dec.20. Honored to be given the challenge of bringing Ares, The God of War to life. Sleep with one eye open Percy,” Adam Copeland tweeted.
Adam Copeland weighs in on the pros and cons in AEW and WWE
As mentioned above, Copeland was forced to retire back in 2011. But he shocked the world when he returned at the 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble match. Since then he has been wrestling frequently. He is currently signed with AEW. During a recent episode of the Battleground podcast, the Rated R Superstar shared the difference between AEW and WWE.
“I mean every process has its pros and cons right? But it’s great to be involved to a heavy extent creatively. Now I’ve been lucky in that throughout the years and throughout a lot of years and producing that you are given some creative freedom. That’s always great you know, because as a performer you have to be able to bite into what you’re trying to produce out there,” he said.
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion also shared his excitement about the fact that the talent gets a say in the creative process.
“I’ve always said if there’s some element of truth that the person behind the character can bite into then the fiction should follow that truth. And that doesn’t change. That’s always treated the same but it’s really nice to sit down and go, Okay, how could this story play out?’ And be heavily heavily involved in that and being here on a week-to-week basis that becomes more possible. It’s not poking in every three months and that becomes hard. It becomes a hard process to be involved in a large creative way when it’s just kinda popping in and out.”
