AEW Dynamite viewership decreased on October 4.
According to Wrestlenomics, 800,000 viewers watched the show on Wednesday night, and it drew a 0.28 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership is up from last week’s episode, when 855,000 viewers tuned in. The demo stayed even from last week‘s episode, which drew a 0.28 rating in the same demographic.
With the decrease in viewership, AEW Dynamite fell to the number six show on cable for Wednesday night. Dynamite was up against ESPN’s coverage of three different MLB Playoff games yesterday, with two going head-to-head with last night’s show.
AEW Dynamite also suffered from multiple cable companies listing the program at 4 PM EST instead of 8, which could have also impacted viewership.
What happened on AEW Dynamite this week?
This week’s show kicked off with Rey Fenix defeating Nick Jackson to retain the AEW International Championship.
It was also announced that MJF will defend the AEW World Championship against Bullet Club Gold leader Jay White at Full Gear.
Elsewhere on the show, Timeless Toni Storm defeated Skye Blue. In tag team action, Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho defeated Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita. Following the match, Powerhouse Hobbs joined the Don Callis Family and attacked Omega and Jericho.
In the closing segment of the show, Adam Copeland addressed the All Elite Wrestling crowd for the first time. Copeland proposed to Christian Cage that they reunite as a tag team, and Cage told him to go f**k himself.
