Randy Orton is reportedly in town ahead of WWE SummerSlam.
Orton has been sidelined since May 2022; he has not wrestled since the May 20 episode of WWE SmackDown, where he and Riddle lost the RAW Tag Team Championship to The Usos. “The Viper” subsequently had back surgery, and he was expected to be out of action for an extended period.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Orton is in Detroit ahead of WWE SummerSlam.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful tweeted that, per sources close to Orton, he is nowhere near medically cleared to return at this point.
Update On Randy Orton
Sapp recently reported that Orton is not cleared to compete, though he has started lifting again. Per Sapp, Orton is not figured into WWE’s creative plans, and fans shouldn’t count on a potential return at SummerSlam. Doctors have told Orton that wrestling in the future is not a good idea, but he intends to return.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
