Seth Rollins: The SAG-AFTRA Strike Gives WWE A Silver Lining, I Stand By The Writers

Seth Rollins comments on the SAG-AFTRA strike.

SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America are both on strike, so Hollywood has temporarily shut down, as both writers and actors are fighting for better compensation, among other demands.

Speaking with TMZ Sports, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Rollins was asked to share his thoughts on the SAG-AFTRA strike. The interviewer wondered whether Rollins felt like the strike presented WWE with an opportunity to bring in new fans. The champion noted that he stands by the writers, but WWE is fortunate to not be part of a union, as they can still perform.

“Silver lining for us, I suppose,” Rollins said. “I know it’s a difficult time for the actors and the writers. I believe they’re doing the right thing, asking for what they deserve, [and] I stand by them. It is a fortunate part of not being part of a union, and we are able to still perform and for audiences and for people who may not be familiar, now they get an opportunity to tune in and see what we’re about.”

Seth Rollins Says Business Is Booming

WWE continues to break records, and it’s clear that the business is hot. The company recently set a new record for the highest-grossing even at Madison Square Garden. In the same interview, Rollins stated that WWE is in a boom right now.

“We’ve never been hotter,” he said. “Business is the biggest it’s ever been. The talent across the board is the best it’s ever been, and the business is hot right now. We’re in a boom. I think when we look back on it, it’s gonna be a special time.”

In another interview, Rollins described how his back has been bothering him since 2019. Check out his comments here.

Rollins will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor at WWE SummerSlam. More information is available here.
