WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther likes the way his title looks right now.
Over the past few weeks, WWE has unveiled multiple new designs for championships, including the WWE Women’s Championship, the Women’s World Championship, and the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
In an interview with Steve Fall for WrestlingNewsCo, Gunther was asked to share his thoughts on his title potentially getting a new design, and he stated that he was “very pleased” with its currently look.
“I’m fine with the one I got,” Gunther said. “I personally always liked the old design, with the white strap. But, things gotta develop and things gotta move forward, and yeah, I think it’s just personal taste. I’m very pleased with how it looks right now.”
Gunther was also asked about his ongoing mission to restore prestige to the WWE Intercontinental Championship and take the title to a new level. He stated that it is a work in progress, and he remains focused on the present.
“Still a work in progress. I think I will be able to look back at it once it’s done at some point,” he said. “But nobody plans on losing a title, I don’t either, but as of right now, I gotta stay focused on the present, I would say, and whatever’s the next challenge in front of me. That’s where my full focus is. Obviously, one year was like, a nice milestone along the way, but yeah, let’s just see where we end up when it’s all said and done, I would say. Tthen we could look at it as an accomplishment.”
In the same interview, Gunther discussed Imperium potentially getting new members. Check out his comments here.
