A new report shines some light on Trish Stratus‘ absence from the February 20 episode of WWE RAW.
The WWE Hall of Famer was reportedly set to return on the show; Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported that Stratus was planned for Bayley’s “Ding Dong, Hello” segment, but at some point during the taping, she wound up leaving before the segment. The report noted that “creative changes” were cited as the reason for the situation.
In an update, per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Twitter account WKRDWrestling noted that Stratus will working a storyline she’s had her sights set on for some time. Sapp confirmed that a storyline with Becky Lynch and other “high level stars” had been planned as of last week. It’s unclear whether that’s still the case. Likewise, it’s not currently known whether Stratus will be involved. Sapp’s report also stated that Stratus’ relationship with WWE is “fine.”
On the February 20 episode of WWE RAW, instead of Stratus, Becky Lynch and Lita interrupted “Ding Dong, Hello” and challenged Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai & IYO SKY) to a match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. The bout was confirmed for the February 27 episode.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
