ROH Death Before Dishonor Results – 07/23/22

Zero Hour

Colt Cabana vs. Anthony Henry

Cabana throws some chops and connects with a corner punch, then he charges the corner and connects with a splash and a lariat for two. A near fall after a frog splash gets Cabana fired up, and he sidesteps a top rope dropkick by Henry. Cabana blocks a German suplex and throws an elbow, but Henry ducks and locks him in a front facelock. Cabana counters and puts him in the Billy Goat’s Curse, but JD Drake hopes up on the apron. Cabana goes towards him and sidesteps Henry, who was charging the corner. Colt whips Henry into Drake to knock him down, then he hits a moonsault and hooks the leg to win.

Winner – Colt Cabana

Shinobi Shadow Squad (Cheeseburger and Eli Isom) vs. The Trust Busters (Ari Daivari and Slim J)

Slim hooks the top rope to stop an Irish whip by Cheeseburger, then Ari gets in and chops CB. Ari initially stops him from making the tag, but Cheeseburger breaks free and leaps towards his corner. Eli connects with an armdrag and a dropkick for two, then Slim tags in and catches a boot to the face. Isom stays on offense and gets a near fall, but Slim breaks it up. Cheeseburger runs in and gets caught with a butterfly suplex by Slim, then Isom fights him off and runs into a diving cutter. Slim heads up top and hits a crossbody, then Daivari hits a frog splash for the win.

Winners – The Trust Busters (Ari Daivari and Slim J)

Prince Nana returns and says he bought Tully Blanchard Enterprises, so he will accompany Brian Cage, Kaun and Toa Liona to the ring, as well as Jonathan Gresham for his match.

The Embassy (Brian Cage, Kaun and Toa Liona) vs. Alex Zayne, Blake Christian, and Tony Deppen

Tony Deppen gets right in Cage’s face, and Cage shoves him to the mat. Kaun gets in and Deppen goes back and forth with him, then Zayne tags in and gets run over by Toa. Deppen runs in and Toa stomps him in the corner, then Toa steps on Zayne’s throat and taunts him. Toa hits a delayed vertical suplex and tags Kaun, who floats over and kicks Zayne in the face. Zayne finally makes a comeback by cracking Cage in the face after being thrown in the air, and Blake gets a dropkick off the hot tag. Blake catches Cage with a tornado DDT, then he hits a Fosbury flop on the floor before Deppen follows with a cannonball on the opposition.

Zayne hits a splash, Blake hits a corkscrew senton and Deppen connects with a splash for a near fall. Deppen’s frustrated over the near fall, and the delay sets him up to get trucked by Kaun. Toa takes down Zayne, Deppen hits a kneelift, but Cage shakes it off and hits a discus clothesline. Cage goes for a powerbomb by Zayne and Christian hit in-stereo kicks, then Toa and Kaun rebound with an Air Raid Crash before targeting Deppen. Deppen chops everyone in one last act of desperation, but Kaun hits a backbreak before Toa and Cage hit a knee strike / fireman’s carry combo for the win.

Winners – The Embassy (Brian Cage, Kaun and Toa Liona)

Allysin Kay vs. Willow Nightingale

Willow hits a reverse splash in the corner, then she goes for an Irish whip but Allysin sidesteps and hits her in the back of the head. Allysin chops Willow in the corner but it only fires up Willow, who throws a few of her own. Allysin comes back with a lariat and kicks her in the face, then she goes for a clothesline but Willow catches her with a clothesline for two. Willow and Kay both try to score a rollup, then we get a Kimura attempt before Allysin repeatedly jabs Willow in the face. Allysin attempts the armbar again but Willow kicks her in the face, then Willow attempts a powerbomb but Allysin counters with a reverse piledriver for two. Allysin goes for AK47 but Willow blocks, then she kicks Allysin and hits the Pounce off the ropes. Willow connects with a cannonball in the corner, then she hits a powerbomb for the win.

ROH Death Before Dishonor – Main Show 

ROH World Championship

Jonathan Gresham (c) vs. Claudio Castagnoli

Claudio catches Gresham in the swing early, then he pulls Gresham up but gets caught with a takeover off the turnbuckles. Gresham kicks Claudio’s knee and wrenches around on his leg to soften him up, then Claudio kicks him on the apron and gutwrenches him up and over the top rope. Claudio hits a spinning backbreaker, then he goes for a leglock but ends up stomping Gresham after he blocks the initial move.

Gresham comes back with a German suplex and bridge for two, then Gresham slugs Claudio as soon as he gets up from the kick out. Claudio hits Swiss Death but Gresham blocks a Neutralizer, and Claudio connects with a lariat to stop him in his tracks. Claudio surprises Gresham with a Ricola Bomb and gets the cover.

Winner and NEW ROH World Champion – Claudio Castagnoli

ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship

The Righteous (Vincent, Bateman, and Dutch) (c) vs. Dalton Castle and The Boys

Dalton and The Boys get some early offense but Vita jumps on the apron to distract them. She allows Dutch and Vincent to attack, then Dutch hits a somersault dive on the floor. Vincent hits Death From Above (swanton) for two as Dalton breaks it up, then Dalton catches Bateman with an elbow before Vincent sends him outside. Vincent hits a neckbreaker on Brandon, then Castle tackles him on the floor as Brandon dives at Dutch. Dutch catches and slams him down, then Dalton hits a German suplex, Castle ducks a strike from Bateman and hits Bangarang and scores the pin.

Winners and NEW ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions – Dalton Castle and The Boys

ROH Pure Championship

Wheeler Yuta (c) vs. Daniel Garcia

Yuta and Garcia throw a few elbows to start, then Yuta scores a takedown and lets Garcia up. Garcia talks some trash before Yuta takes him down again, but Garcia turns the tide and whips Yuta through the ropes. Garcia attacks him on the floor and throws him into the barricade, then rolls him in and stomps Yuta on the mat. Garcia hits a suplex and tries to keep Yuta down, but Yuta comes back with a German suplex and stands up and transitions into an armbar. Garcia bites Yuta’s ear outside of the referee’s view, then he drops Yuta with an uppercut.

Garcia scores a near fall before they clothesline each other, then they get up at the same time and slap the hell out of each other. Yuta drops back before applying a facelock, then Garcia counters and applies a Sharpshooter. Yuta reaches up and counters into an STF, then Garcia counters into a Regal Stretch as the crowd pops. Yuta fights out and puts Garcia in a Liontamer (Boston Crab), but Garcia uses one of his three alloted rope breaks to escape. Garcia hooks Yuta’s arms and tries to stomp his head, but Yuta rolls through and scores the rollup for the win.

Yuta asks for a handshake after the match, but Garcia flips him off and holds up both middle fingers as he walks up the ramp.

Winner – Wheeler Yuta

Rush vs. Dragon Lee

Rush piefaces Dragon and hits a shoulder block, then he taunts the crowd and chops Dragon in the corner. Dragon comes back with a float-over kick on the turnbuckles, but Rush connects with a stiff kick and a dive on the floor. Dragon comes back with a dive through a table, then he connects with a double stomp for two before they slug it out with each other. Dragon and Rush throw a bunch of forearm shots, then Dragon calls for a chop-off. Dragon connects with a pump kick before going to the apron, then Rush ducks a Thesz press and throws Dragon off the apron and onto the floor.

Dragon and Rush make it back in before the 20 count, then Rush connects with Bull’s Horns in the corner but Dragon kicks out. Rush can’t believe it, but he pulls Dragon up into the corner and onto the turnbuckles. Dragon gets Rush in tree of woe position and double stomps him, then he hits a powerbomb but still only gets a two count. Rush looks to be out of it so Dragon checks on him, but Rush was only playing possum as he connects with some forearm strikes and Bull’s Horns for the win.

Winner – Rush

ROH Women’s World Championship

Mercedes Martinez (c) vs. Serena Deeb

Both competitors start with some chain wrestling, then Mercedes finally gains the upper hand by kicking Serena in the face. Serena rolls to the floor but Mercedes follows and throws her back onto the apron, then she elbows Serena in the back of the head and sets up for another move. Serena charges and spears her on the floor, then she sets Mercedes up in the center of the mat and Mercedes surprises her with a backslide pin attempt. Mercedes sets up for a suplex on the top turnbuckle but Serena blocks it, so Mercedes yanks back and puts her in a Dragon suplex before attempting another suplex. Serena escapes and hangs her up in the tree of woe and lands a dropkick, then Mercedes catches her in a choke-style submission but Serena counters.

Mercedes breaks a submission attempt and charges the corner, but Serena sidesteps her and heads up top. Mercedes sets up in the same corner and this time connects with a super German suplex, then she pulls herself back up and clubs Serena in the chest. Mercedes hits the ropes and tries to hit a forearm smash, but Serena falls down on the mat so Mercedes puts her in a surfboard stretch. Serena bites Mercedes’ arm to break away, then they slug each other a couple of times before Serena connects with a swinging neckbreaker. Serena applies the Serenity Lock and Mercedes rolls through to break, and Serena smashes Mercedes’ left knee on the mat and twists around on her ankle. Mercedes ends up kicking Serena into the corner, then she finally ends it by making Serena tap to the Brass City Sleeper.

Winner – Mercedes Martinez

ROH World Television Championship

Samoa Joe (c) vs. Jay Lethal 

Lethal tells Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt to stay back and heads to the ring alone. Lethal waits for Joe in the aisle and charges at him, and they start slugging it out before the bell even rings. The fight continues on the floor as Joe slams Lethal into the barricade, then he takes apart the commentary table before Satnam Singh runs down to ringside. Singh attacks Joe and holds him as Lethal hits him with a chair, then the ref throws Singh out of the match as the bell rings.

Lethal stomps Joe in the corner and hits the Lethal Combination for two, then Joe goes for a Muscle Buster and regains control in the corner. He goes for another Muscle Buster but Lethal counters, then Lethal hits the Lethal Injection again for a two count. Joe comes back with a judo throw but Sonjay Dutt runs out and distracts him, and Lethal hits Joe with the title and makes the cover. Joe somehow kicks out and Lethal can’t believe it, but he sets up another Lethal Injection and Joe catches him in the Coquina Clutch. Lethal escapes and goes for a submission, but Joe rolls back into the Coquina Clutch and puts Lethal out.

Winner – Samoa Joe

ROH World Tag Team Championship (2 out of 3 falls) 

FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) (c) vs. The Briscoes

The Briscoes work to keep Cash down early on, then Dax finally gets the tag but the Briscoes are quick to overpower him in the corner. They clothesline him in the corner before Cash fires back with a clothesline on Mark, then Jay goes for a Jay Driller on Dax, who counters with a DDT for two. The Briscoes get right back on the offensive and hit a Doomsday Device, with Mark getting the pin on Dax while Jay blocks Cash from breaking up the pin.

Winners of the first fall – The Briscoes

The second fall starts with Jay and Dax in the ring, and Dax lands some suplexes before heading up top. Mark cuts him off and Jay assists with Redneck Boogie for two, then Mark unloads on Dax with some strikes before whipping him into the ropes. Dax slides under and gets the hot tag, and Cash throws some uppercuts and chops in the corner. Cash connects with a clothesline on Mark, then he follows with a Brainbuster for two. Dax pulls Jay off the apron when he tries to interfere, and Cash hits Mark with a Gory special but somehow only gets a two count. Dax and Jay end up fighting in the crowd while Cash and Mark fight for position near a table.

Mark headbutts Cash and rolls inside, but Cash surprises him a splash for two. Jay hits Cash in the face with the ring bell and Mark makes the cover, but Cash somehow kicks out at two! Jay hits a Spicoli Driver and Mark follows with Froggy Bow, but Dax breaks up the pinfall and the match continues. Dax plays possum on the floor and flapjacks Mark into the stairs, then Jay and Cash slug it out in the ring before Cash ducks a punch and Dax assists with Big Rig to even things up.

Winners of the second fall – FTR

Cash and Mark, both bleeding from their heads, start the final fall by chopping each other in the center of the ring. Dax and Mark end up fighting on the apron and Dax blocks an Uranage, but Mark jabs Dax and hits a Blockbuster from the apron. Jay slugs it out with Dax and Cash before an inadvertent punch hits the referee, and Jay takes advantage and hits the Jay Driller. The crowd chants for the count but the referee is still down, so Jay kicks Cash and lifts Dax up for another Doomsday Device. Cash runs over and knocks Mark down, then they hit Big Rig but the ref is slow to get back in and Jay kicks out at two!

Cash gets sent back outside and The Briscoes hit another Doomsday Device on Dax, but they still only get a two count. After both teams slug it out in the ring, Cash ends up suplexing Mark from the turnbuckles through a table on the floor, and Jay tries to go for a Jay Driller but Dax shoves him into the opposite corner. Dax climbs the turnbuckles and hits a top turnbuckle piledriver and lands on Jay to get the pin.

Winner of the third and final fall – FTR
