Cody Rhodes chose to compete last night against Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell, and now he’s set to have surgery to repair the injury he battled with.
Following the event, Cody Rhodes told the live crowd that he would address the injury on Monday Night RAW, but it’s likely the last we’ll see of The American Nightmare for quite some time.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Cody Rhodes is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair his torn pec this Thursday. While the internet lists a recovery time of six to twelve months for an injury such as this, multiple professional wrestlers have come back from this injury much quicker.
Here is a time frame of some notable professional wrestlers’ recovery time from a torn pectoral muscle.
- John Cena: Four months
- Triple H: Five months
- Elias: Five months
- Hiromu Takahashi: Six months
Armed with this knowledge, it seems very likely that The American Nightmare could easily return in time for the 2023 Royal Rumble barring any unfortunate setbacks during rehab.
