All Elite Wrestling has booked two major matches for the June 8 episode of AEW Dynamite.
On the June 3 episode of AEW Rampage, AEW World Champion CM Punk announced that he’s injured, and he has to get surgery. He stated that he told company president Tony Khan that he was willing to relinquish the title, but Khan told the champion that he believed in him. After some initial confusion regarding the title picture when commentator Chris Jericho stated that Punk would be relinquishing the title, the broadcast team eventually clarified the matter.
On the next episode of Dynamite, the show will kick off with a Battle Royale, and the winner of the bout will face the top-ranked contender, Jon Moxley, in the main event. The victor of that bout will go on to AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door to compete for the Interim AEW World Championship.
THIS WEDNESDAY on #AEWDynamite at 8/7c on TBS, we’ll kick things off with a Battle Royale to determine who faces #1 contender @JonMoxley in the Dynamite main event.
