MJF and Wardlow met in the ring during the May 11 episode of AEW Dynamite, and MJF named his conditions for their upcoming match at AEW Double or Nothing.
Surrounded by security guards, Wardlow came down into the ring before “The Salt of the Earth” came to the ring, welcomed by a huge ovation from his hometown crowd. He recapped the feud between himself and Wardlow before noting that if Wardlow beats him at Double or Nothing, MJF would free him of his contract. However, Wardlow had to agree to some some conditions first.
First, Wardlow would be whipped with MJF’s belt 10 times. Then, he would have to face off and beat Shawn Spears in a Steel Cage Match with MJF as the special guest referee. If he can get through those obstacles, he’ll get his match at the pay-per-view. The Dynamite Diamond Ring winner went on to say that if Wardlow loses at Double or Nothing, he would “never” be able to sign with AEW.
Once Wardlow signed the contract for the bout, he quickly flipped the script by attacking the security guards. He dropped Shawn Spears and tried to hit a powerbomb on MJF before Mark Sterling stopped him. “Smart” Mark subsequently took a powerbomb through a table, as Wardlow ended the segment standing tall.

He says Wardlow is going to get whipped before their match at Double or Nothing; he’s going to hit him with his belt 10 times. If Wardlow gets through that, he’ll have to face Shawn Spears in a Steel Cage Match and points out that Wardlow is 0-2 in cage matches. MJF says he’ll be the referee of the Steel Cage Match, and if Wardlow wins, he’ll get the match at Double or Nothing. He says if Wardlow loses at Double or Nothing, he’ll never able to sign with AEW. MJF has the guards take Wardlow’s handcuffs off so he can sign the contract. Wardlow attacks the security guards while MJF cowers behind Spears. “Mr. Mayhem” drops Spears and tries to powerbomb MJF, but Mark Sterling stops him. Wardlow then powerbombs Sterling through a table.
