Shinjiro Otani Hospitalized After Sustaining Injury During 4/10 Pro Wrestling ZERO1 Main Event

Shinjiro Otani was sent to the hospital following an injury he sustained while competing against Takashi Sugiura for the ZERO1 World Heavyweight Title last night.

Otani took a German Suplex from Sugiura into the turnbuckle and was unable to move after this, causing an immediate stop to the match.

Tokyo Sports was able to obtain word from Katsumi Sasazaki, the referee of the match who said he could not feel his hands but was conscious and alert.

Katsumi said, “He was conscious. He could hear [his own] voice and he could clearly see where he was. However, he complained that he couldn’t move his hands and that he couldn’t move, and he said, ‘I can’t feel my hands.'”

The ringside doctor appeared to think that there is serious concern a cervical spine injury was sustained during the match, courtesy of Hochi News.
