IMPACT Wrestling is hoping to add to its already impressive roster by getting The Briscoes and Taya Valkyrie back into the fold.
According to a new report from PWInsider.com, IMPACT Wrestling would like to use The Briscoes as regulars in the company “if possible.” Mark and Jay Briscoe worked a match against the Good Brothers at IMPACT’s Multiverse of Matches event on Friday night. It was also noted that The Briscoes cut a post-match promo and weren’t happy taking a loss on the show and they would be back.
The Briscoes were staples in Ring Of Honor for more than 15 years, and were released when former owner Sinclair Broadcasting released the entire roster from their contracts in December 2021. It was recently reported that the Briscoes were not expected to join All Elite Wrestling “anytime soon.” The team has continued to make appearances in other companies, including for the NWA, where they won the 2022 Crockett Cup.
The Briscoes faced off with FTR at Ring Of Honor’s Supercard event in Garland, Texas, then drove over to Dallas to compete with the Good Brothers at the IMPACT ‘Multiverse’ event at WrestleCon. FTR spoke about what their ROH Supercard Of Honor match meant to them; check out their full post-match comments at this link.
The report also noted that IMPACT intends to use Taya Valkyrie as a regular moving forward, but it’s not an indication that her husband, John Morrison, will also return to the company. Valkyrie made her return at Multiverse of Matches and confirmed she would face Deonna Purrazzo for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship at IMPACT’s Rebellion pay-per-view later this month.
