Big E suffered a scary injury when he went down with a broken neck, but his first doctor’s appointment has given him a new perspective.
The former WWE Champion was stretchered out of the arena on the March 11 episode of WWE SmackDown following a botched overhead throw from Ridge Holland. The New Day star subsequently revealed that he broke his neck, but he later updated fans about his condition by stating that his C1 and C6 are fractured. Due to the non-displacement nature of the injury, and the fact that there’s no damage to his spinal cord or ligaments, he won’t require surgery.
In another update after his first doctor’s appointment, on March 22, Big E tweeted that he has learned he “narrowly escaped a strike, paralysis, or death”. The beloved star stated that, more than ever before, he sees how life is “precious and valuable.”
Had my first doctor’s appointment and learning (because of the C1 fracture) I narrowly escaped a stroke, paralysis or death is very sobering. Life feels even more precious and valuable now.
