Kel Mitchell is happy he got to mix it up with The New Day on the set of All That during a sketch featuring one of his most infamous characters.
Mitchell recently spoke with Tyler Treese for ComingSoon.net and reflected on working with The New Day on Nickelodeon’s All That revival. In the sketch (seen above), Mitchell played his ‘Coach Kreeton’ character and was subject to getting hit with some pancakes and a few absurd wrestling moves. He called the opportunity a dream come true and said it was a lot of fun.
“That was a dream come true to me. First of all, we brought All That back and then having them come on, because I’m a huge WWE fan, you know what I mean? So that was cool,” Mitchell said. “Me and my wife, we love the WWE and so when New Day came on, they were excited and I was just as excited as them. We just had a blast.
“It was really funny because I remember I got to like knock a chair over and hit them, and it was just them looking at me like that. I was like, ‘Oh, I feel like I’m in the WWE. This is crazy. I’m about to wrestle.’ So, yeah man, we had fun,” he added. “We had a lot of fun.”
The New Day continues to appeal to plenty of outlets outside of wrestling, as Movie Trivia Schmoedown‘s Kristian Harloff told WrestleZone that he’d love to have them on his show in the future.
“I’d love to have [The Rock] involved, obviously not just because, of course, you’d want The Rock involved; he’s the biggest superstar out there. Not just that, his understanding of both the wrestling side of it plus the entertainment, I think, is a perfect mixture. I think Xavier Woods is someone for sure that I think would get this thing really, really well. Big E, I mean, there’s tons of people that I think that could really work inside of it. CM Punk is someone that I’ve had on my show in an interview, not in Schmoedown, so I’ve interviewed him a few different times. I think he would get it; I think he’d understand, especially in the horror division. He’s a big horror guy.”
