WWE SmackDown viewership enjoyed a solid increase on January 7 to start 2022 on a strong note.
According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, 2.271 million viewers watched the show on Friday night, and the program scored a 0.58 rating (756,000 viewers) in the 18 to 49 demographic.
The last proper episode of WWE SmackDown aired on Christmas Eve, as the New Year’s Eve edition was a clip show. The December 24 episode drew 1.972 million viewers, and the show scored a 0.48 rating (630,000) in the 18 to 49 demographic. As a result, SmackDown rose in both overall and demographic viewership on January 10.
