WWE SmackDown Viewership And Demographic Rating Increase On January 7

WWE SmackDown viewership enjoyed a solid increase on January 7 to start 2022 on a strong note.

According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, 2.271 million viewers watched the show on Friday night, and the program scored a 0.58 rating (756,000 viewers) in the 18 to 49 demographic.

The last proper episode of WWE SmackDown aired on Christmas Eve, as the New Year’s Eve edition was a clip show. The December 24 episode drew 1.972 million viewers, and the show scored a 0.48 rating (630,000) in the 18 to 49 demographic. As a result, SmackDown rose in both overall and demographic viewership on January 10.

This week’s show featured the return of Roman Reigns. In the main event, The Usos defended the SmackDown Tag Team Championship against the New Day.
