Alex Hammerstone is sticking with Major League Wrestling.
On Tuesday, Major League Wrestling confirmed that Hammerstone, the current MLW World Heavyweight Champion, signed a multi-year contract extension with the company.
Major League Wrestling (MLW®) today announced that Alex Hammerstone has signed a multiyear contract extension, keeping the reigning World Heavyweight Champion in MLW for years to come.
“As MLW grows, we do so together with our talent and that’s reflected in the new deal we structured with Alex,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer. “We’re excited to have Alex call MLW home for the foreseeable future.”
Making his MLW debut in early 2019, the Arizona native captured gold within his first 90 days in the league, becoming the inaugural National Openweight Champion in Milwaukee. A member of the Dynasty, Hammerstone would conquer all challengers before setting his sights on a title versus title unification bout against Jacob Fatu.
Winning the Battle Riot this past July, Hammerstone would make history October 2nd in Philadelphia where he defeated Fatu to win the World Heavyweight Championship and have the distinction of ending Fatu’s undefeated streak.

Fightful Select first reported Hammerstone re-signed with MLW, noting that the deal would keep “Your Boy Hammer” with the company through “at least 2023.” Hammerstone later told Fightful about his decision to re-sign and explained his thought process going into the negotiations.
“I’ve been in the business for ten years now and it’s nice to finally be in a position where I’m really starting to see a return from it. Beyond that, there are a lot of things that MLW offers me that other companies might not. Not an intense schedule, not the demand of being on the road five days a week or something like that. That’s not something I might ever want to do. As my time goes on in wrestling, I always say, ‘I wrestle for free, but you have to pay me to travel.’ I love the wrestling part, but the traveling kicks my ass and is the most frustrating part of it. There are a lot of advantages at MLW right now. As far as the contract goes, we were able to come to something I was happy with.”
